This 1957 Palm Springs home designed by A. Belden Crist was in decent, intact but tired condition and with a few touches, came alive. Basically surface finishes and some light construction in the kitchen and patio area were what was needed. The kitchen had original cabinetry but drawers stuck and nothing closed right. We decided to rebuild it as it was originally designed but with all new, custom walnut cabinetry and slate flooring. The covered patio had been extended by a previous owner and blocked the glorious mountain views. We peeled the roof back 6 feet and the resulting extended beams were turned into Neutra-esque spider legs. The architect's signature fireplace was re-faced with birch and the hearth clad in slate and a large window was added. See this article inPalm Springs Life magazine!
